Go back three generations and almost everyone in the UK is a migrant.

Our generation is at the heart of social and political strife over the status of migrants in our country.

We want to tackle the rhetoric, the name-calling, and the blame. We instead want to pay homage to the strength and inspiration passed down through generations and across borders.

Politicians paint migration as a new crisis. We believe that this age-old phenomenon has laid the basis for our social fabric.

We wanted to shine a light on the voices usually silenced by society. Our Grandmothers came to mind - too often, their stories are underestimated and belittled.

Grandmothers are not figures of pity.

What about their journeys? What about their struggles? How have they shaped the society we live in?

together we can tell a different story
